1982 MEN'S PRELIMINARY 2

Bob Seagren returned to Superstars competition for the first time in four years, now as a veteran at age 34, and once again emerged on top. He struggled with a calf injury and was able to pass Pete Maravich for the title only after the obstacle course. Seagren won only one event, the rowing but managed to finish either second or fourth in all of his other events to capture victory. Bob Beamon was a challenger for a spot in the finals, but he suffered from heat exhaustion following the 100 yard dash and had to withdraw from the obstacle course. Four of the seven men who had competed at the first Superstars (Seagren, Killy, Gilbert and Frazier) were on hand once again for the start of the tenth season. In total, nine of the twelve entrants had previous Superstars experience.
