Member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame

Taylor led the N.F.L. in rushing in 1962 with 1,474 yards, becoming the only man to defeated Jim Brown for a rushing title and winning the N.F.L. M.V.P. An All-American L.S.U., Taylor led the Green Bay Packer offense in the 1960's and won the first Super Bowl. His 8,597 career rushing yards ranked second all-time until O.J. Simpson passed him. In 1967, Taylor finished his career with the New Orleans Saints. He was a six-time All-Pro (1961-'64, '66) and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1976.
