1977 CANADIAN SUPERSTARS
The second Canadian Superstars saw the first appearance of soccer player Brian Budd of the Vancouver Whitecaps. Budd was only invited to compete three weeks prior to the event, and then had to come to an agreement with his team in order to attend as the Canadian Superstars took place in the midst of the N.A.S.L. season. Once he got to the event, Budd dominated. He won four events and finished with 47 points, second place was well back with 30 1/2. I only know of the winners of the other events, but not final standings, except for the fact that Tony Gabriel and Dave Cutler finished second and third.
